MUJI Poster Exhibition at MUJI Hollywood

MUJI CURATES POSTER EXHIBITION
IN LOS ANGELES

LOS ANGELES, July 13, 2017 – This summer, Japanese lifestyle brand MUJI will stage a curated exhibition of 12 original, archival MUJI posters in Los Angeles. The collection of rarely-seen posters by Ikko Tanaka & Kenya Hara will be on display at MUJI’s Hollywood store, located at 7201 Hollywood Boulevard, from August 3, 2017 until September 12, 2017.

Ikko Tanaka, one of the originators of MUJI, was a leading graphic designer in Japan during the 20th century. As the art director, he illustrated MUJI’s concept—combining a “no-brand” approach with the values of “quality goods”—in posters, until he passed away in 2002. Kenya Hara, who took over as art director and is an Advisory Board Member for MUJI, continues to visually communicate this corporate philosophy.
