MUJI will open its first store on the West Coast in November, 2012 at SOMA in San Francisco

NEW YORK – July 31st, 2012 – MUJI U.S.A. LIMITED has announced its first MUJI store on the West Coast will open at South of Market (SOMA) District, San Francisco in November, 2012. The store will be located at 540 Ninth Street, San Francisco. It will be the largest MUJI store in the US with 7,250 square feet of retail floor space.

MUJI SOMA will be the fifth location in the US, following openings in New York City, beginning with MUJI SOHO in 2007 followed by MUJI Times Square, MUJI to GO at John F. Kennedy International Airport Terminal 5, and MUJI Chelsea in 2008.

Hiroyoshi Azami, President of MUJI U.S.A. Limited, said, “We are delighted to be opening our first MUJI store in San Francisco, a hub of the Pacific Rim with the diverse background. MUJI aspires to modesty and plainness so as to adapt and shape itself to the styles, preferences, and practices of the individuals. We hope MUJI will be embraced by many people living in San Francisco Bay Area.”

The store will offer over 2,000 items of MUJI products, including about 1,700 items of Household items and 300 items of Apparels.
