NEW YORK – November 18, 2013 – MUJI U.S.A. LIMITED today announced that Muji US Flagship store will open in Hollywood, California on December 14, 2013. The store named MUJI Hollywood will be located in the Hollywood Galaxy Shopping Center at 7021 Hollywood Boulevard in a former nightclub space. When it opens, MUJI Hollywood will be the largest MUJI store in the US with approximately 8,600 square feet of retail floor space. The store will offer a wide range of popular MUJI products along with new lines, including foods, MUJI Labo and Found MUJI. MUJI Hollywood store will be open from 10:00a.m. to 9:00p.m. from Monday to Saturday, 11:00am to 7:00pm on Sunday.
MUJI offers good quality products such as a wide variety of stationery, household items and apparel at reasonable prices. Mujirushi Ryohin,“MUJI” in Japanese means “no-brand quality goods”. The value of the MUJI product is in its effectiveness without the renowned brand or designer name. MUJI pop-up shop will open on December 7 (formerly annouced on December 3). It will carry a limited number of items, focusing on travel and mobile accessories. The shop will be open until December 31.
MUJI Hollywood Original My Bags and Special Giveaway for the opening
To celebrate the Hollywood store opening as well as to promote sustainability, MUJI will offer an exclusive My Bag with a map of United States and special gift to the first 1,000 customers who come to the store on the opening day to encourage reducing waste that results from the use of paper or plastic bags. MUJI plain My Bag will be offered at $3.50 after the opening.
MUJI Hollywood will be the eighth MUJI store in the US. The first store, MUJI SOHO (NYC), opened in 2007, followed by MUJI Times Square (NYC), MUJI to GO at John F. Kennedy International Airport Terminal 5; MUJI Chelsea (NYC) in 2008; MUJI SOMA (San Francisco) in 2012; and MUJI Cooper Square (NYC) and MUJI San Jose in 2013.
