MUJI US Flagship store coming to Hollywood Boulevard in November 2013

NEW YORK – June 20th, 2013 – MUJI U.S.A. LIMITED today announced that Muji US Flagship store will open in Hollywood, California in November 2013. The store named MUJI Hollywood will be located in the Hollywood Galaxy Shopping Center at 7021 Hollywood Boulevard in a former nightclub space. When it opens, MUJI Hollywood will be the largest MUJI store in the US with approximately 8,600 square feet of retail floor space. The store will offer a wide range of popular MUJI products along with new lines, including foods, MUJI Labo and Found MUJI.

MUJI offers good quality products such as a wide variety of stationeries, household items and apparel at reasonable prices. Mujirushi Ryohin,“MUJI” in Japanese means “no-brand quality goods”. The value of the MUJI product is in its effectiveness without the renowned brand or designer name. The essence of MUJI products lies in its simplicity, flexibility and modesty to fit different life styles and individual preferences. MUJI, originally founded in Japan, does not direct its products to be affected by any trends and “isms”, rather, aims to be universally relevant. MUJI products maintain reasonable price levels, not by compromising quality, but by avoiding the waste typical of many products’ manufacturing and distribution — unnecessary functionality, excess decoration, and needless packaging.

Hiroyoshi Azami, President of MUJI U.S.A. Limited, said, “We are delighted to be opening the US Flagship store in Hollywood, the center of visual entertainment, that attracts millions of people annually from all over the world. We look forward to MUJI establishing its presence in Los Angeles by bringing MUJI’s philosophy and products to the residents and visitors in this dynamic district.”

MUJI Hollywood will be the eighth MUJI store in the US. The first store, MUJI SOHO (NYC), opened in 2007, followed by MUJI Times Square (NYC), MUJI to GO at John F. Kennedy International Airport Terminal 5; MUJI Chelsea (NYC) in 2008; MUJI SOMA (San Francisco) in 2012; and MUJI Cooper Square (NYC) and MUJI San Jose in 2013.
